March 5th is the 55th anniversary of the death of Joseph Vissarion Norwich Stalin (иосиивсталин, 1879-1953), the leader of the former Soviet Union. The leaders of the Russian Communist Party laid a wreath at Stalin’s tomb on the Kremlin wall.
According to the Russian newspaper Yediot Izvestia reported on March 5, it is not only the leaders of the Russian Communist Party who pay tribute to Stalin, but also some admirers of Stalin. According to the newspaper, nearly half of Russians gave positive comments on Stalin’s role in Russian history. It is fashionable to collect signatures and dedicate them to Stalin’s tomb. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Stalin’s admirers were pensioners, who would come to the cemetery with portraits of their leaders to commemorate the event. Now, most of them are young people who don’t know much about Stalin’s behavior.
Russia’s "Russian News Network" reported on the 4th that Stalin’s grandson Fugenny Zhukashvili (Stalin’s original surname) said in an interview with the Interfax news agency: "Now people’s lives in Russia and Georgia have become more difficult, but during Stalin’s time, life was better, more interesting and happier. Now, those who are alive and happy are the rich, while ordinary people are very poor, mainly because they no longer believe in the future and themselves. "
Yevgeny said: "I believe that people who respect Stalin are not only old people, but also young people. I firmly believe that respect for Stalin will continue from generation to generation. The reason is simple. Everything Comrade Stalin did was for the people and the country. "
There are rumors that Stalin’s cemetery will be moved out of Moscow and placed in his hometown of Gree, Georgia. Yevgeny resolutely opposed it. He said: "First of all, moving the tomb to Georgia means reducing Stalin’s historical achievements, and second, the Russian people will not allow it." (Global Network Liang Xu)
